About the Role:
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you’ll provide vital one-to-one or small group support to students with learning disabilities, including autism, ADHD, dyslexia, and visual or hearing impairments. Working closely with classroom teachers, you’ll create a nurturing and structured learning environment, ensuring every child gets the personalised attention they need to thrive.
Responsibilities:
• Supporting children in Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), Key Stage 1 (KS1), and Key Stage 2 (KS2) to develop socially, emotionally, and academically
• Using your expertise in SEN to create individualized learning plans alongside the teacher, adapting activities for students with autism, ADHD, dyslexia, and other needs
• Supporting children with sensory impairments, such as visual and hearing disabilities, through adapted resources and tailored communication
• Managing and positively addressing challenging behaviours with empathy and skill
• Building strong, supportive relationships with students to foster their confidence and independence
About You:
We’re looking for an enthusiastic, proactive individual who thrives in a supportive and inclusive environment. Key requirements include:
• SEND Diploma or similar qualification; experience in PRU (Pupil Referral Unit) settings is highly desirable
• Proven experience working with children with learning disabilities in primary school settings
• Confident in addressing and managing challenging behaviours, ensuring a positive learning environment
• Enhanced DBS certificate on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
• Available for full-time work, Monday to Friday
