About the Role
Are you a skilled and enthusiastic Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) ready to support students and teachers in achieving excellence? We are seeking a dedicated HLTA to join a vibrant school in Birmingham. This role offers the opportunity to work closely with students across various age groups and subjects, supporting their development and helping them thrive in an inclusive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities – as a Higher Level Teaching Assistant, you will:
• Plan and deliver engaging lessons or interventions under the guidance of teachers.
• Support teachers in planning, assessing, and preparing classroom resources.
• Provide one-on-one and small group support to students, helping them overcome learning barriers.
• Cover lessons in the absence of teachers, ensuring continuity in learning.
• Assist in managing classroom behavior and fostering a positive, productive atmosphere.
• Contribute to Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and support students with additional needs (SEN).
• Actively promote inclusivity, student well-being, and academic achievement.
Person Specification:
• Qualifications: HLTA qualification or equivalent is essential.
• Experience: Previous experience as an HLTA or in a similar role is desirable.
• Skills: Strong communication, organization, and classroom management skills.
• Passion: A commitment to nurturing student growth and supporting teachers.
• Enhanced DBS Certificate: On the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
