School Business Manager, Halton Cheshire

rTriibe are currently supporting a school in the Halton area to recruit a temporary School Business Manager to cover a long term leave – for a term in the first instance. We are currently looking for applicants with experience as school bursars, business managers or finance or office managers.

Overview of the role;
The School Business Manager plays an integral part of the Senior Leadership Team/Management team (SLT/SMT) therefore the SBM would be responsible for the following duties;
Deputising for SLT members as appropriate
Line management of school support staff
Strategic management responsibility for effective whole school administration and organisational support services, as well development of marketing, income generation and business links
Strategic Leadership and management of the operational business for the various Business Units
Responsible for the budget and all financial processes, specifically budget preparation and its management.
Responsibilities include human resources, facilities management including project management, health and safety and security, audit and financial management.
Start date: September 2022

Essential requirements for this role;
Previous experience of using a FMS; SIMs and Agresso in a school setting
Previous experience of working in a school setting; primary or secondary as a SBM, Office Manager or School Bursar
Available to start a temporary role in September

· Experience of managing budgets, financial reporting, procurement and fixed assets
· Development of strategic financial plans
· Financial analysis and reporting
· Managing/overseeing projects
· Line management experience, experience of managing and motivating teams
· Contributing to staff development
· Experience of managing contracts/contractors and working with business customers
· Experience of HR and payroll
· Expert knowledge of financial management and accounting processes
· Information management systems
· HR policies/codes of practice/legislation
· Payroll systems and processes
· Resource management and procurement
· Effective communication and interpersonal skills
· Ability to communicate a vision and inspire others
· Ability to build effective working relationships with staff and other stakeholders
· Understanding of data protection and confidentiality
Please note an enhanced DBS is required
Job Types: Full-time, Temporary contract
Salary: £165.00-£185.00 per day
