As an HLTA, you’ll play a key role in supporting teaching and learning across year groups, taking initiative in leading sessions and stepping up where needed. To thrive in this role, you’ll need UK school-based experience, a Level 4 or 5 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning, and ideally, a Foundation Degree or HLTA professional certification. Your strong background in English and Maths (Level 2 or equivalent), along with your proficiency in ICT, will help you support students effectively.
Whether you bring specialist training in areas like sign language or are experienced in applying targeted learning strategies such as literacy support, your creativity, problem-solving ability, and up-to-date knowledge of the curriculum will set you apart. Your ability to inspire confidence, build positive relationships, and work collaboratively is essential.
