We are currently looking for a passionate and experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join a welcoming and supportive primary school in Halifax. This full-time, long-term role offers a rewarding opportunity to work across Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2, supporting pupils’ learning and development.
Key Responsibilities:
• Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging learning activities for individuals, small groups, and whole classes
• Assess, record, and report on pupils’ progress in line with school policies
• Foster a safe and inclusive learning environment
• Work collaboratively with teaching staff to support curriculum delivery
• Apply strong safeguarding practices and support children with additional needs (SEN)
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
• A recognised Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) qualification
• Proven experience in primary school settings, with flexibility across KS1 and KS2
• A strong understanding of SEN and safeguarding procedures
• Good ICT skills to support modern classroom delivery
• English and Maths at Level 2 or equivalent
• A positive, proactive approach and a genuine passion for supporting young learners
• An Enhanced DBS Certificate on the Update Service, or willingness to apply for one
