As an LSA, you will play a vital role in the classroom by working closely with teachers and pupils to provide tailored support. You’ll be involved in a variety of tasks, from helping children access the national curriculum to offering one-on-one or small group interventions. Your focus will be on nurturing the academic and emotional development of pupils, while fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment. A deep understanding of child development and a flexible approach to learning are key to success in this role.
The ideal candidate will hold at least 5 GCSEs at grades 9 to 4 (A* to C), including English and Maths, along with a Level 2 Certificate in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools or a relevant qualification. Prior experience supporting children with SEND is essential, as is fluency in written and spoken English. You should bring a sound knowledge of the key stage curriculum, strong communication skills, and the ability to adapt learning support strategies to meet the unique needs of each pupil.
