As a Level 3 Teaching Assistant, you’ll work alongside classroom teachers to deliver tailored learning support, both in group settings and on a one-to-one basis. You’ll help create a calm and encouraging environment that fosters participation, builds confidence, and promotes independence in pupils. From preparing classroom resources to guiding pupils through key learning tasks, your contribution will be vital in maintaining structure and engagement throughout the school day.
To be successful in this role, you must hold a Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification, such as NVQ CACHE Level 3, RQF – TQUK Level 3 Supporting Teaching & Learning in Schools, or an equivalent. Prior UK school-based experience is essential. You should demonstrate excellent verbal communication, active listening skills, and the patience to support pupils through their challenges. An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one) is required, along with a flexible attitude and the ability to stay calm and positive in busy classroom settings.
