Are you confident in the classroom and have a passion for supporting students in their Maths learning journey? We’re looking for an enthusiastic Maths Cover Supervisor to work full-time in a vibrant secondary school in Bolton. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with young people, can take charge of a classroom, and thrives in a fast-paced educational environment—even if you’re not a qualified teacher just yet.
As a Cover Supervisor, you’ll step into the classroom when teachers are absent, delivering pre-set Maths lessons and ensuring students remain engaged and on-task. Your focus will be on maintaining a positive learning environment, managing behaviour effectively, and supporting students’ understanding of the subject. While you won’t be responsible for marking or planning, your ability to manage a class confidently and support students’ learning is key to the role.
To be considered, you should have 5 GCSEs at grades 9 to 4 (A to C)* including English and Maths, and ideally have completed—or be working towards—qualifications such as the Level 2 Award in Support Work in Schools, Level 3 Certificate in Cover Supervision, or a PGCE. An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply for one, is essential. Experience in a UK school or similar setting is preferred, and above all, we’re looking for someone with great energy, patience, and a sense of humour.
