About the Role:

As a Cover Supervisor, you’ll play a crucial role in maintaining a structured learning environment by stepping in for teachers during short-term absences. This role is ideal for recent graduates or anyone looking to explore a career in teaching.

Key Responsibilities – as a School Cover Supervisor, you will:
• Classroom Supervision: Oversee classes during teacher absences, ensuring students remain engaged and focused on their tasks.
• Lesson Delivery: Follow lesson plans provided by teachers, supporting students in completing their assigned work.
• Behaviour Management: Maintain a positive and respectful classroom environment, reinforcing school policies on behaviour.
• Support Students: Assist students with questions and help create an environment conducive to learning.
• Collaborate with Staff: Work alongside teachers and school staff to support school activities and contribute to student success.
Person Specification:
• Education: A degree is preferred but not essential; experience in an educational setting is advantageous.
• Skills: Strong communication, resilience, and confidence in managing groups of students.
• Experience: Ideal for those with prior experience working with young people or in a tutoring or mentoring role.
• Other Requirements: Enhanced DBS certificate on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
