Are you passionate about science and eager to inspire the next generation of learners? We are looking for a Science Cover Supervisor to join a vibrant secondary school in Tameside. This full-time opportunity is ideal for someone who enjoys working with young people and is ready to step into a key role in the classroom. As a Science Cover Supervisor, you’ll be responsible for delivering pre-set science lessons and maintaining classroom order in the absence of the regular teacher. You will provide vital continuity for students and support their learning across Biology, Chemistry, and Physics. Your ability to explain concepts clearly and manage behaviour effectively will help keep students engaged and on task.
To be successful in this role, you’ll need an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or be willing to obtain one) and experience in a UK school or similar setting. You should also hold at least 5 GCSEs at grades 9 to 4 (A* to C), including English and Maths. Although not essential, qualifications such as a Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant Certificate, Cover Supervisor qualification, or a PGCE will be advantageous. Most importantly, you’ll bring energy, patience, resilience, and a strong understanding of the science curriculum.
