Are you passionate about making a real difference in the lives of young people? We are looking for a SEMH Teaching Assistant to join a dedicated team in Burnley, supporting students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who is patient, resilient, and committed to helping students overcome barriers to learning.

In this role, you will work closely with students of secondary school age, providing 1:1 support and small group interventions to help them develop both academically and emotionally. You will assist in lesson delivery, offer guidance on social interactions, and support students in managing their emotions and behaviour. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential, as you’ll be working collaboratively with teachers, staff, and external professionals to create a supportive learning environment.

The ideal candidate will have GCSEs (Grade C or above) in English and Maths, experience working with SEN students, and a flexible, empathetic, and proactive approach. You should be comfortable using ICT for basic word processing and admin tasks, have a solid understanding of barriers to learning, and be able to handle sensitive situations with discretion. A commitment to equal opportunities, diversity, and inclusion is crucial, as well as the ability to remain calm and adaptable in challenging situations.

If you are a motivated and caring individual who can inspire students to reach their full potential, we’d love to hear from you. Apply today to be a part of something truly impactful! Rate: 85.04-above
