Are you passionate about supporting young people with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs? We are seeking a dedicated SEMH Teaching Assistant in Bury to work closely with students, helping them overcome barriers to learning and develop the skills they need to thrive.
As an SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will provide tailored support to students with social and emotional challenges, helping them engage in their education and develop positive relationships. You’ll assist in the classroom, provide one-on-one support, and contribute to inclusive learning environments. Your role will also involve admin tasks, supporting the department and ensuring the smooth running of lessons.
The ideal candidate will have GCSEs in English and Maths (Grade C or above), experience working with secondary-age students in a structured setting (education, youth work, etc.), and a strong understanding of barriers to learning and social inclusion. You should be empathetic, adaptable, and resilient, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills. A willingness to undertake training and development and support Academy events/open days is also desirable.
