We are seeking a SEMH Teaching Assistant to join our team in Wigan, dedicated to supporting students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. In this role, you will be working alongside experienced teaching staff to help students overcome barriers to learning and thrive in a structured educational setting.
The ideal candidate will have GCSE qualifications in literacy and numeracy (grade C or above) and experience working with secondary-age students in an education or youth work environment. You should be confident in ICT use, such as basic word processing, and have a passion for supporting students with Special Educational Needs (SEN), particularly those with SEMH.
You will need excellent oral communication skills and the ability to support students with learning difficulties, adapt to varying classroom needs, and manage sensitive and confidential information with discretion. The ability to work independently, as well as in collaboration with others, is essential. Your role will also involve supporting teachers with administrative tasks and attending school events as needed.
