Are you passionate about supporting children with special educational needs and helping them achieve their full potential? rTriibe is currently seeking a dedicated and proactive SEN Teaching Assistant to support a school in Birkenhead. This is a rewarding opportunity to work closely with pupils who require additional support, helping them develop academically, socially, and emotionally within a supportive school environment.
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work alongside teachers and support staff to provide tailored assistance to students with a range of special educational needs, including autism, ADHD, and social, emotional, and mental health needs. Your role will involve supporting pupils on a one-to-one basis or in small groups, ensuring they receive the guidance and encouragement needed to succeed in their learning.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide one-to-one and small group support for pupils with special educational needs.
• Assist teachers in implementing individual education plans and adapting learning materials.
• Support pupils with conditions such as autism, ADHD, and SEMH needs.
• Encourage positive behaviour, engagement, and participation in classroom activities.
• Foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment that promotes student wellbeing.
• Monitor and report on student progress, behaviour, and development.
• Work collaboratively with teachers and other staff to ensure pupils receive appropriate support.
Requirements:
• Previous experience working as an SEN Teaching Assistant or supporting pupils with special educational needs.
• SEND Diploma or relevant qualification in supporting special educational needs is desirable.
• Knowledge and understanding of autism, ADHD, and SEMH.
• A Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Criminology, or a related field is advantageous.
• Ability to provide two professional references covering the last 24 months.
• Enhanced DBS certificate on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one.
This is a full-time role, Monday to Friday, offering the opportunity to make a meaningful impact in a supportive school environment.
