As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work alongside teachers and support staff to provide tailored assistance to students with a range of special educational needs, including autism, ADHD, and social, emotional, and mental health needs. Your role will involve supporting pupils on a one-to-one basis or in small groups, ensuring they receive the guidance and encouragement needed to succeed in their learning.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide one-to-one and small group support for pupils with special educational needs.
• Assist teachers in implementing individual education plans and adapting learning materials.
• Support pupils with conditions such as autism, ADHD, and SEMH needs.
• Encourage positive behaviour, engagement, and participation in classroom activities.
• Foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment that promotes student wellbeing.
• Monitor and report on student progress, behaviour, and development.
• Work collaboratively with teachers and other staff to ensure pupils receive appropriate support.
Requirements:
• Previous experience working as an SEN Teaching Assistant or supporting pupils with special educational needs.
• SEND Diploma or relevant qualification in supporting special educational needs is desirable.
• Knowledge and understanding of autism, ADHD, and SEMH.
• A Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Criminology, or a related field is advantageous.
• Ability to provide two professional references covering the last 24 months.
• Enhanced DBS certificate on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one.

We are looking for candidates with substantial experience supporting children with a range of needs, including autism, ADHD, and other additional learning requirements. The successful candidate will play a key role in helping pupils access the curriculum, develop confidence, and achieve their full potential.
Role and Responsibilities:
• Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils with SEN
• Work closely with the class teacher to plan and deliver tailored learning activities
• Support pupils with EHCPs and individual learning plans
• Implement strategies to manage and positively support challenging behaviour
• Foster a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment
• Encourage pupils’ social, emotional, and academic development
• Monitor and record student progress, providing feedback to teaching staff
• Assist with classroom preparation and general support duties
Requirements:
• Proven experience supporting children with SEN in a school setting
• Strong understanding of autism, ADHD, and behavioural support strategies
• Diploma in SEND, a relevant bachelor’s degree, or SEN Specialist Certificate (preferred)
• Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (essential)
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills

• Enhanced DBS certificate (or willingness to obtain one – support provided)
• Availability to work full-time, Monday to Friday
