Are you an experienced and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant seeking a rewarding role in a supportive primary school environment? We are currently recruiting for a full-time position supporting pupils with a range of special educational needs across EYFS, KS1, and KS2.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide tailored 1:1 and small group support for pupils with additional needs
• Work closely with class teachers to deliver targeted interventions
• Assist in the educational, emotional, and social development of pupils
• Support children with Autism, ADHD, SEMH, Down syndrome, dyslexia, EAL, and speech and language communication needs
• Offer care and support for children with personal care needs, including those with visual and hearing impairments
• Confidently manage and respond to challenging behaviour
• Collaborate with professionals and families to promote positive pupil outcomes
• Contribute to pupils’ early development and long-term growth
Essential Criteria:
• Prior experience working as a SEN Teaching Assistant in a UK classroom setting
• Experience supporting children with a wide range of SEND needs
• Knowledge of and sensitivity towards pupils with trauma or from a PRU (Pupil Referral Unit) background
• SEND Diploma or relevant SEN qualifications – desirable
• Strong understanding of Autism awareness, ADHD, SEMH, and learning disabilities
• Excellent communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills
• Pro-active, patient, hardworking, and committed to inclusion
• Must have an Enhanced DBS certificate registered on the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one)
• Full-time availability (Monday to Friday)
