Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of children with special educational needs? We are looking for a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join a Primary School in Bury, supporting children in EYFS, KS1, and KS2.
Role & Responsibilities:
• Provide 1:1 support and work with small groups of children.
• Assist children with a range of needs, including:
o Autism, ADHD, SEMH, Down Syndrome, Dyslexia, EAL, Hearing and Visual Impairments, Speech and Language needs, and Trauma.
• Support students in a Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) setting, if required.
• Work closely with the classroom teacher to implement tailored learning strategies.
• Assist with personal care, when needed.
• Confidently manage and support challenging behaviour in a positive and proactive manner.
• Encourage children’s early development and academic growth.
Requirements:
• SEN Teaching Assistant experience in a UK classroom setting.
• A SEND Diploma or relevant qualification.
• Knowledge and experience of Autism awareness, ADHD, SEMH, and other learning disabilities.
• Experience in personal care and supporting children with complex needs.
• A proactive, hardworking, and committed attitude.
• An Enhanced DBS Certificate on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
• Full-time availability, Monday to Friday.
