Are you an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant looking for your next opportunity in Manchester? We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual to support children across Primary, EYFS, KS1, and KS2 settings. This is a full-time role offering the chance to make a meaningful difference in the lives of children with special educational needs.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with a range of SEN including Autism, ADHD, SEMH, Dyslexia, Down Syndrome, EAL, and sensory impairments (hearing and visual).
• Assist pupils with personal care where necessary.
• Work closely with the classroom teacher to deliver tailored support plans.
• Help children develop key communication and social skills, including those with speech and language needs.
• Support children who have experienced trauma or are part of a PRU setting.
• Encourage academic progress and emotional development in a nurturing and inclusive environment.
• Manage and respond to challenging behaviour in a calm and confident manner.
Requirements:
• Experience working in a UK classroom-based setting as a Teaching Assistant.
• A relevant SEND Diploma or equivalent qualification.
• Strong understanding of Autism, ADHD, SEMH, and other learning needs.
• Previous experience supporting children with learning disabilities.
• Comfortable supporting children with personal care and communication needs.
• Proactive, hardworking, and committed to making a positive impact in children’s lives.
• Must hold an enhanced DBS certificate registered on the Update Service, or be willing to apply for one.
Desirable:
• Previous experience working in a PRU or specialist SEN provision.
• Experience with children affected by trauma or complex needs.
