Are you passionate about supporting children with special educational needs? We are looking for a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join a vibrant Primary School in Manchester.
Role Overview:
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will provide essential support to children with a range of additional needs, including Autism, ADHD, SEMH, Down Syndrome, Dyslexia, EAL, Hearing & Visual Impairments, Speech & Language Communication Needs, and Trauma. Your role will involve:
• Supporting children on a 1:1 basis or in small groups
• Assisting in EYFS, KS1, and KS2 classrooms
• Providing personal care where required
• Working closely with the classroom teacher to support learning and development
• Managing challenging behaviour and fostering a positive learning environment
• Assisting in children’s early development and growth
Requirements:
• Experience as a Teaching Assistant in a UK classroom
• SEND Diploma or relevant experience in SEN settings
• Awareness of Autism, ADHD, SEMH, and other learning disabilities
• Comfortable supporting children in Pupil Referral Units (PRU)
• A proactive, hardworking, and committed attitude
• An Enhanced DBS certificate on the Update Service or willingness to apply
