Key Roles & Responsibilities:
• Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils with SEN
• Support children with Autism, ADHD, and SEMH needs
• Assist the class teacher in delivering engaging and inclusive lessons
• Promote positive behaviour and emotional regulation
• Support pupils with personal care, where required
• Help students develop communication, social, and life skills
• Implement strategies to support children with trauma-related needs
• Maintain a safe, nurturing, and structured learning environment
• Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and support staff

What We’re Looking For:
• Previous experience as an SEN Teaching Assistant or in SEN environments
• Understanding of UK classroom dynamics
• Experience supporting children with complex needs
• Knowledge of trauma-informed practice (desirable)
• SEND Diploma or relevant SEN qualification
• Patient, resilient, and empathetic approach
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• Enhanced DBS (or willingness to apply)

If you have experience working within UK classrooms, particularly in primary settings like EYFS, KS1, and KS2, and can make a tangible difference, this could be the perfect role for you.

Your primary role will involve working closely with the classroom teacher and supporting children on a 1:1 basis or in small groups, helping them overcome barriers to learning and achieve their full potential. Experience with various conditions including SEMH, Down Syndrome, and visual impairments, alongside an understanding of PRUs and dealing with challenging behaviours, will serve you well. Your efforts will directly impact children’s early development, helping to shape their future success.
