Are you a skilled and passionate Design & Technology Technician looking to make a difference in an SEND educational setting? We are seeking a SEND Design & Technology Technician in Wigan to support teaching staff and students in delivering engaging and practical lessons.
In this role, you will provide technical support for Design & Technology classes, ensuring that tools, machinery, and materials are well-maintained and available for use. You’ll assist in the setup of practical lessons, work with 3D and 2D CAD software, and ensure health and safety standards are met at all times. Your strong IT skills, including proficiency in Gmail, Google Docs, Sheets, and Slides, will support the smooth running of the department.
The ideal candidate will have GCSEs (A-C) or equivalent in English, Maths, and a Science subject, or a degree-level qualification in a Design-related field. A knowledge of health and safety regulations, particularly in a workshop environment, is essential, with relevant D&T Association training being a plus. Experience working with SEND students is desirable, as you will play a key role in supporting their learning and engagement.
