Are you a passionate and dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant looking to make a real impact in the lives of students? A fantastic opportunity has arisen in Wigan for a committed individual to join a supportive educational setting, helping students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) reach their full potential.
As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and support staff, assisting in the development and delivery of tailored learning plans. Your role will involve supporting small groups or providing one-on-one assistance to students, ensuring they receive the guidance they need to thrive in a classroom environment. You will also help to create an inclusive and engaging learning atmosphere, using your patience, adaptability, and strong communication skills to support both academic and social development.
To be successful in this role, you should have excellent teamwork and communication skills, strong literacy and numeracy abilities, and an understanding of child development and learning strategies. A GCSE grade A to C (or equivalent) in English and Maths* or a Level 2 Functional Skills qualification is required. While a Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification is preferred, it is not essential. Experience working with SEND students and a valid Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or a willingness to obtain one) are essential.
