About the Sports Coach Role
As a Sports Coach, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality PE lessons and extracurricular sports activities, encouraging pupils to stay active, build confidence, and develop teamwork skills. You will work closely with schools to promote physical fitness, healthy lifestyles, and positive behaviour through structured sports sessions.
This role is ideal for qualified sports coaches, PE specialists, and individuals seeking long-term experience within schools.
Key Responsibilities
• Deliver engaging sports and PE sessions in line with school programmes
• Support physical education across a range of activities, including football and general PE
• Encourage participation, teamwork, and healthy lifestyles among pupils
• Motivate students to improve performance, confidence, and physical wellbeing
• Adapt activities to meet the needs of different age groups and abilities
• Maintain safeguarding, health and safety, and school behaviour policies
• Communicate effectively with school staff and pupils
Essential Skills and Qualifications
• Previous UK school-based experience in a primary or secondary setting
• Relevant sports coaching or PE qualifications
• Strong communication and behaviour management skills
• A calm, supportive, and inclusive approach when working with children
• Valid Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service
• First Aid training
• Two professional references covering the last 24 months
• Availability to work full-time or a minimum of three days per week
