Are you passionate about supporting students with visual impairments and ensuring they have equal access to education? We are looking for a Teaching Assistant for Visually Impaired Students in Bury to provide tailored support and help create an inclusive learning environment.
In this role, you will work closely with teaching staff, parents, and external professionals to promote the learning, access, and well-being of students who are sight impaired or severely sight impaired, many of whom may have additional complex needs. You will assist in class supervision, lesson delivery, and adapting resources to support students’ individual learning requirements.
The ideal candidate will have at least 3 GCSEs (A-C), including English and Maths*, and a Teaching Assistant qualification is desirable. Experience in working with Braille and specialist ICT equipment for visually impaired students is highly advantageous. You should have excellent communication and organisational skills, a patient and empathetic nature, and the ability to work collaboratively with teachers and families. Experience working with students with complex learning, physical, communication, or social and emotional needs is a plus.
