Are you passionate about supporting children with visual impairments in reaching their full potential? rTriibe is seeking a compassionate and skilled Teaching Assistant for Visually Impaired (VI) students to join a supportive and inclusive school environment in Stockport. This is a full-time opportunity for someone committed to making education accessible for every learner, regardless of their needs.
In this role, you will provide tailored support to students who are sight impaired or severely sight impaired, many of whom may have additional or complex needs. Working closely with teaching staff, parents, and specialist services, you will help create a learning environment where VI students can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. Your duties will include assisting in class, preparing specialist resources, and promoting positive engagement through adaptive technologies and learning methods, including Braille and specialist ICT equipment.
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of three GCSEs at grade C or above, including English and Maths, with a Teaching Assistant qualification considered a strong advantage. Experience working with children who have visual impairments is essential, particularly in supporting their learning using specialist tools. Strong communication and organisational skills are key, along with empathy, patience, and the ability to work collaboratively with staff and families to meet each child’s unique needs.
At rTriibe, we believe in empowering every child to shine. If you’re experienced in supporting students with VI and you’re ready to bring your expertise to a setting where your work truly matters, we’d love to hear from you.
