Are you passionate about inclusive education and making a meaningful difference in the lives of young people? rTriibe is on the lookout for a compassionate and skilled Teaching Assistant for Visually Impaired students to join a supportive school community in Stockport. This full-time opportunity is perfect for someone who thrives in a collaborative environment and is driven to support children with visual impairments to achieve their full potential.
In this rewarding role, you will work closely with students who are sight impaired or severely sight impaired, many of whom have additional complex needs. You’ll support their learning in class and through targeted one-to-one interventions, helping them access the curriculum and develop essential skills. Your responsibilities will also include using specialist equipment such as Braille tools and adaptive ICT, while promoting well-being and encouraging independence in every aspect of the student’s school life.
We’re looking for candidates with at least 3 GCSEs at grade C or above, including English and Maths, and ideally a Teaching Assistant qualification. Experience in classroom supervision and a strong understanding of supporting students with special educational needs—particularly those with visual impairments—is essential. You’ll need excellent communication and organisational skills, and the ability to build strong partnerships with staff, parents, and external professionals.
If you’re empathetic, proactive, and ready to be a vital part of a young person’s education journey, this could be your next big step. At rTriibe, we believe in the power of support and inclusion—join us in delivering tailored learning experiences that empower every student to thrive. Rate: 85.04-above
