- Trained in relevant learning strategies, e.g., literacy
- Specialist skills/training in a curriculum area, e.g., sign language
- Able to inspire trust and confidence
- Creative thinking and problem-solving skills
- Interest in self-development
- Up-to-date knowledge of teaching and curricular developments
- Experience in promoting and developing good relationships
- Level 4 or 5 Teaching Assistant or Supporting Teaching and Learning
- Qualifications, knowledge and skills to Foundation degree level or professional qualification for HLTA
- Experience in multiple year groups
