Inspiring Young Chefs: Healthy Eating Week and the Culinary Adventures in Schools
This year, Healthy Eating Week is all about promoting and supporting healthier lifestyles, with a focus on addressing the affordability of healthier diets in light of the ongoing cost-of-living crisis. The theme for Healthy Eating Week 2023 is “Healthy Eating Week – For Everyone!”
To ensure that everyone has access to the information they need to adopt a healthier diet, we have gather some free resources below for you, evidence-based advice and support during Healthy Eating Week. Here’s how you can get involved:
1. Register now: By registering, you will receive free downloadable activity packs and resources tailored for early-years settings, primary schools, secondary schools, and workplaces/adults. Here is a sneak peek into some of the amazing information available for free!
Awesome Offspring to Healthy Adults e-book: This fun and imaginative resource helps children learn about healthy eating.
Healthy Eating PowerPoint: A science-based presentation introducing healthy eating to KS1 students.
Healthy Eating and Living PowerPoint: Designed for younger students, this resource teaches healthy eating habits.
Healthy Eating Divided Plate Sorting Activity: An interactive activity to introduce nutrition to your class.
Healthy Eating Word Search: A super fun activity for Healthy Eating Week.
Don’t forget to check out Twinkl’s Original book, ‘Carrot Club.’ It’s a fantastic story to read with children during Healthy Eating Week and comes with its own engaging resources.
2. Join in with Nutition.org: There are several exciting events planned for Healthy Eating Week 2023. Participate in the primary school assembly, the secondary school CANtastic recipe competition, and a workplace webinar. Register now to receive details as soon as they become available!
3. Spread the word: Help Nutrition.org to raise awareness about Healthy Eating Week by using their social media toolkit.
